Laser Hair Removal Treatment Has Certain Unwanted Effects

By Tia F. Gilmore

Whether it's temporary or permanent unwanted effect, still it causes injury to your skin. Nevertheless, these kinds of circumstances cannot be avoided but you could ask some of your close friends for a few suggestions to lower the risk. To completely avoid it, you could pick other treatments aside from the hair laser removal.

Although the results are great in getting laser hair removal, there are some possible hazards that may likely to take place. The negative effects could be short-term or permanent. Given that it's short-term, then there would be no trouble simply because it'll fade away in a couple of days, weeks or several months. Well, the healing time only depends upon the seriousness of the side effects or with the use of medications. The risk of someone to develop negative effects depends on her skin's characteristic; the more your skin is sensitive, the higher the possibility of developing side effects.

In the contrary, those who have encountered the side effects have learned to prevent them and still continue to have hair laser removal treatment. Also, they consult to a better expert practitioner to prevent the possibility of experiencing again the negative effects that their current doctor had caused.

Temporary Side effects

1. Pain is experienced during and after the operation. This is because of the laserlight that generates heat to destroy the hair roots. Anesthetic drugs are used to alleviate any pain that the client may feel. After the process, the licensed practitioner or the skin doctor may prescribe pain relief drugs to the client if the discomfort still continues.

2. The existence of irritation or redness on the skin of the person is most likely to occur. But this isn't a big problem as it can be cured with topical gels or solutions. Some swellings aren't so serious; it can be left untreated and will vanish in a period of time.

3. Apart from pain and swelling, the chance of swelling is likely to occur. If the redness is located in areas which are not noticeable then it won't be a problem, unless if it is found near the lips, on the neck or perhaps in the face. Nevertheless, to relieve redness, ointments can be utilized as a topical medication.

4. Blistering is the worst and most unpleasant unwanted effect of the laser hair removal therapy. Even if it is temporary, it can be psychologically damaging to the client. It may also have an effect on her self appearance and self-confidence. You can talk to a physician on what are the things you can do about it.

5. Momentary blackening of the skin on the treated area, that is sometimes called hyperpigmentation, may also occur. This is because the laser targets the hair follicles, hitting the skin can't be avoided. The client can't do anything until it vanishes. If the affected region is visible then you can talk to the licensed physician for any guidance.

Permanent Negative Effects

1. The permanent lightening of the skin or skin discoloration of the treated part may sometimes occur after the treatment or weeks after the procedure. During the treatment, the laser damages the hair root along with the dark pigmentation of your skin. To some people who already have a white skin tone, this isn't a problem. But for individuals who have dark skin color, this may be damaging to them.

2. Burns are less likely to happen and the least likely to occur among the side effects. This only happens if the person performing the procedure is not capable or competent. The practitioner may also lack of expertise. This may happen due to overtreatment or the heat of the laser is extremely high. Generally, these are only minor burns.

3. Scarring on the skin mostly occurs when the skin is treated by practitioners that don't have the capability to perform the procedure. Sometimes it is caused by the practitioner's negligence. If the hair laser removal is done by inexperienced practitioners, you should be prepared to face the consequences.
